Helping Kids and Teens with Physical Therapy

As fall sports teams get into full swing, your kids and teens may be coming home with pain or aches from their extracurricular activities. As a parent, you may have noticed that your child’s running pattern during sports is different than last year, or that they are complaining more frequently about soreness. Kids and teens grow rapidly compared to adults, which often can greatly affect their movement patterns and muscle use.

Our physical therapists tailor programs specifically designed for active kids and teens and to fit the needs of these younger patients. Common injuries we see include sprained ankles, knee pain, hip pain, shoulder strains and back pain. At Cherry Creek Wellness Center in Stapleton, we strive to make physical therapy fun for kids, while helping them return to playing sports without pain, stiffness or soreness. Examples of physical therapy treatments for kids include prescribing the correct footwear and fixing running patterns, as well as recommending short home exercise programs specific to certain sports or activities.

If you are interested in getting your child or teen in for a physical therapy session, call Cherry Creek Wellness Center in Stapleton today at 303-333-3493 ext. 3.
